UAL exhibition highlights: Glamorous swimwear from trashy beginnings

On first glance, it’s hard to imagine the humble beginnings of BA Jewellery Design graduate Ruby Parker’s luxurious swimwear and accessories.

Her work, ‘Wear what you waste’, caught my eye when I attended the exhibition of students’ work Central Saint Martins, part of University of the Arts (UAL) London.

See if you can guess the items of household rubbish which were used…then spoiler pictures after the slideshow.

Ruby has captured the beauty in these common overlooked and discarded materials. And, just like the waste she has used, her work deserves a second look too: website here and Instagram.
